Mini Coders Club

Held for Year One and Two students, Mini Coders is a club designed to get students interested in or support students who are already interested in simple coding, robotics and programming.

In the Australian Curriculum Prep to Year Two students are required to, follow, describe and represent a sequence of steps and decisions (algorithms) needed to solve simple problems. To do this they:

  • experimenting with very simple, step-by-step procedures to explore programmable devices, for example providing instructions to physical or virtual objects or robotic devices to move in an intended manner, such as following a path around the classroom

In Mini Coders student use Scratch Jnr and Lego We Do 2.0 to experiment and apply their skills. The sessions are run currently on Thursdays at lunchtime (Week 2 to the penultimate week of each term).
