St Bernard’s School has celebrated a significant milestone with the official Opening and Blessing of the new Penola Early Years Building.

In June, the school community gathered for a beautiful and meaningful liturgy led by Parish Priest Fr Rony Chacko. It was a special moment of reflection and celebration, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the school’s youngest learners.

Principal Daniel Hodge welcomed special guests including Sister Margaret Cleary RSJ and BCE Corporate Services Executive Patrick O'Sullivan, who joined Fr Chacko in officially opening the new facility.

Thoughtfully designed with early learners in mind, the Penola building features bright, welcoming classrooms and engaging spaces that encourage curiosity, creativity and focused exploration. Vibrant colours and sensory elements have been carefully incorporated to support learning through play and discovery.

“This building has been thoughtfully designed as a place where our youngest learners will feel safe, inspired and deeply connected — to their learning, to one another and to their faith,” Principal Hodge shared.

This important investment reflects St Bernard’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality learning environments and nurturing strong foundations for future generations.

The Penola Early Years Building stands as a joyful symbol of growth, community and opportunity — a place where young learners will begin their journey with confidence and wonder.
