At St Bernard's, we believe that
greatness and kindness go hand in hand. For more than 70 years, our community has been shaped by people who know that learning is not only about what we achieve, but who we become along the way. In 2025, we proudly celebrated seven decades of faith, belonging and growth. This milestone reminds us of the strong foundations on which our small but vibrant school continues to thrive.
Today, St Bernard's is a place where every child is encouraged, known and nurtured. With around 180 students, we offer a personalised learning environment where each learner is understood and supported. Central to this is our team of dedicated teachers and staff, whose expertise, compassion and commitment ensure that every child is seen, heard and guided to reach their full potential.
Our close partnership with Clairvaux‑MacKillop College, located right beside our campus, provides families with a seamless journey from Prep to Year 12 within a faith‑filled Catholic community. This connection strengthens learning pathways, supports smooth transitions and ensures our students grow in a consistent environment centred on shared values, strong friendships and high expectations.
Our learning environments reflect the way children learn best, places filled with curiosity, collaboration and joy. Recent upgrades across the campus, including our beautiful Penola Building and outdoor play spaces, demonstrate our commitment to providing contemporary, flexible spaces that inspire creativity and support wellbeing. These facilities help our students engage in rich learning experiences while feeling excited to come to school each day.
At the heart of St Bernard's is our Catholic mission: to teach, challenge and transform. Guided by the Josephite tradition of the Sisters of St Joseph, we encourage students to “never see a need without doing something about it." Whether through service projects, leadership opportunities, buddy connections or everyday moments of kindness, our students learn that greatness is found not only in excellence, but in empathy.
I warmly invite you to visit and experience the spirit of St Bernard's for yourself. Here, your child will be known by name, supported by a dedicated team of educators, and welcomed into a community where greatness and kindness truly connect.
